Happy May {reveal time!}

It's May first, and reveal day over at Scrapbook Heaven.  Be sure to stop in The Forum to see all the lovely creations the team has made with this month's kits.

Here are the kits for May:

Here's what I have created so far.

Elite:

I'll be doing a tutorial for this box on the Scrapbook Heaven blog soon and I'll be sure to share it here, as well.

And when I saw the adorable Pink Paislee mini album included in the kit, I couldn't wait to create a mini for our special summer moments to come!

This ENTIRE album was created with ONLY contents from the kit--I added absolutely nothing to it.

I created staggered pages by trimming each chipboard page 1/2" shorter than the proceeding page.  So page 6 is full size at 6" square, page 5 is 5 1/2" by 6", page 4 is 5" by 6", and so on.  

 I adore the little layered map butterflies and flowers Jules handcrafted for the kits this month.

 And aren't these little map envies the cutest?!  She created them by folding a heart shape!

Even the twine on the banner is in the kit (it's part of the packaging to the Pink Paislee washi tape!).

 I wanted little bits and pieces to stick out of the album, so I mounted lots of embellies off the page.

 I can't wait to fill the album with memories of our summer adventures!

Petite:

Now for the Petite kit.  I have created 2 layouts so far, and will have more to come soon.

I loved the striped paper included in this kit.  Just perfect for slicing up to create a layered stripped mat.

More strips, map butterflies and hand made embellies just perfect for layering and clustering.

Gratitude Album

It has become a tradition in my family to take note of what we are grateful for on Thanksgiving.

To go along with this tradition, I create some sort of gratitude holder.  

Last year it was this Gratitude Box:

The year before, this little suitcase (which somehow never got posted to my blog):

And in 2008, it was a meander album {instructions are here}:

This year, I decided to create some simple tags:

The backside looks like this ( I simply ran regular manilla shipping labels right through the manual-feed tray of the printer):

 Each tag has a different quote about gratitude.

Since I had to come up with 24, I kept the designs simple and made them all with DCWV Harvest Gathering papers and some paper doilies.

They will hang from a branch in a cranberry-filled vase so that everyone can take one down and fill it out:

And then they will all be bound together in this little envelope mini:

so we can flip through it next year.

October Reveals

 It's reveal time over at Scrapbook Heaven!

These are the fun kits I got to play with this month:

Let's begin with the Elite.  This kit was a bit Jekyll and a lot Hyde.

I took a walk on the creepy side and created a door hanger for my oldest's bedroom.  He's a bit Rockstar and the skulls and crossbones are right up his alley.

 Then I got back to my formal {ahem!} self and created these:

a card for those who are forever young.  this one has my SIL's name written all over it!

this MME paper is perfect the way it is, but I feel like I'm cheating if I don't cut it up and rearrange the pieces.

And I still have plenty of papers and goodies left over to scrapbook this year's Halloween photos.

Now onto the Petite.  This kit is a bit softer, if you're a soft Halloween kind of person. 

It was screaming and shrieking at me to create a mini album.  I didn't want it giving me nightmares, so I did.  Here it is:

these are just a few of the embellished pages. it really came together in a jif with the Pink Paislee tabbed dividers.

 I even used book paper from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

note: orange buttons and black rosettes are not included in the kit

August Reveal {and a winner}

Oh my word, August has been a whirlwind.  I have been spending my time getting ready for a special little someone's sixth birthday party this weekend.  We are up to our eyeballs in Legos and are just about ready.

I'll share all the deets next week.

Anyway, the new month of August (where has the summer gone??!) has brought some new kits to the Scrapbook Heaven store.

 

  And new kits mean new scrapbook pages and projects.  Here's what I created with these fabulous kits:

From the Elite:

 Our oldest is very into his music.  He has quite an extensive playlist on his ipod.  This layout documents some of his favorite tunes.

 One of my favorite journaling techniques is to highlight words using cut outs from patterned paper.

 This simple grid-style layout includes a pocket that can be used for report cards, school papers, or journaling.

 There's an entire sheet of banners in this kit--so fun!

From the  Petite:

 This page was inspired by a layout by Sasha Farina that I had saved to my inspiration folder a while back.

  I just loved her absolutely perfectly stitched circles filled with patterned papers.  I think she hand-stitches hers, but my hand-stitching is not that uniform so I opted for the machine (but it was a tad bit tricky to control--needs more practice)

 And another double-pager.  I'm thinking "white" is my safety color--matches everything and is an easy go to color for backgrounds.  I jazzed it up a bit with some bubble wrap stamping using acrylic paint.

I also created a simple mini-album using the Petite kit.  Absolutely love the Daily Junque line included in this kit!

 This album went together in a snap: some white coin envelopes, a couple of sheets of Daily Junque, and some shipping labels all bound together with the Bind-It-All.  Slipped into each envie is a little lined index card.

And what will I do with said album?  Here's a slew of ideas I had while I was making it:

• monthly calendar to keep track of appointments
• daily goals/to do lists
• a perpetual birthday calendar by day: jot done the month and person's name on the day card
• daily quotes
• daily musings
• daily gratitudes
• remember todays (jot down a little something special to remember about each day)
• dream log
• a month in the life

I also saw an idea on Pinterest where you record something about your life each day of the year every year.  You could do the same with this: each day of the month every month for a year. (Darn, I just spent 15 minutes trying to find that project on Pinterest, and I guess I never pinned it and can't find it anywhere--uggh!)

And now for the winner of the Frog Tape!  I loved all of your ideas of ways to use this great green tape--you girls are really clever!  I'm hoping to try some of them out and I'll post them here when I do.

I just painted my kitchen and used the "blue tape". But I have to do my living room too. I could do a comparison.....if anyone is interested!
